Random Knitting Pictures
I've been knitting!!!
The first picture is of Aubrey wearing the sweater that I've already posted a picture of, but she is also wearing a new hat that her great-grandma Marie knit for her. She loves it! She also loves pretending to be a dog which what she is doing in this picture.

These next two are of Remmie and Sugar wearing their new green sweaters that I knit for them over the weekend. They were a really quick knit and so easy. I also made one for Pepper, but I haven't been able to take a picture of her in it yet. The best thing about them is that the yarn was super cheap! Only 90 cents a skein and I made all 3 sweater with 2 skeins.
Sugar is so funny.....whenever I put the sweater on her she looks like she is being punished.

Remmie loves his. He went right to the window to look for David so he could show it to him.
The pattern for the dog sweater can be found in Speed Knitting by Kris Percival. I used Lion wool-ease in green heather, which is perfect because as I said it was really cheap and it's washable which is mandatory when knitting for dogs.
I've been wanting to make a Booga bag forever. My Mom bought a knitting kit at Joanne's and gave it to me. I didn't really like the pattern that came with it, so I made this Booga bag instead.

Sunsets
When we come to Kauai we stay on the North Shore in the Princeville area. From this side we can't really see the sun set, but we can see the color in the clouds and on the water. It's spectacular!
These first three were taken from the cliff just outside the condo where we stayed.

This one is of some surfers just before sunset in the Hanalei bay.
This last one is another of my favorite beaches it's called Black Pot Beach. That's the Hanalei Pier in the background. Some of you may remember it from the movie "South Pacific".

I hope you are all having great sunsets wherever you are!!!!

On the Beach
We've had great weather to be at the beach, but unfortunately the surf has been very high so there have been warnings advising against snorkeling at any of the north shore beaches.
This first picture is of Lance and David wading in the water at Anini Beach. The water was really warm and clear. We could see fish as we were walking.

This is also of Anini. If you look really close you can see Lance's head in the water. He really wanted to get in and snorkel, but the tides were really pulling out so he had to settle for being close to shore.
This is the north end of Ke'e. It's really our favorite beach, but I only seemed to have taken this one picture this year.
This is Lance at the beach at the Princeville Resort. The surf was so high there weren't even any swimmers there.
Looking the other way at the Princeville Resort Beach
These last 3 are at Wylie beach. The amazing thing about all the beaches on Kauai is that you feel like you have the whole beach to yourself.

Sun and Sand
We made it to Hawaii! Our first two days here have been gorgeous! Saturday was probably the most beautiful day we have experienced on any of our trips here. This is the view looking from the point at the Kilauea lighhouse north.

This one is of David and Lance leaving a local hot spot with some of the best smoothies on the island.

This last picture is of Lance sitting in front of the window at the hotel we stayed at the first night. That's Lydgate beach in the background.

More soon.
Aloha!!!

Back to Knitting!!!
I am finally feeling like knitting again. Yeah!!!
This is baby A wearing her new sweater that Nana made for her. That pattern "Dumpling" is in Rowen Babies. Knit with Rowen Big Wool on size 17 needles. It was a really fast knit and she loves it. Her Mom made the scarf.

There was just enough yarn left to make a matching sweater for Pepper! We're off to Hawaii tomorrow so check back soon for pictures.
