Ladies Who do Lunch!

I went to lunch today with a group my friends. We jokingly call ourselves the "ladies who do lunch" because we all used to have jobs, and now most of us don't....so we do lunch instead. Todays excuse was N's Birthday. Happy birthday N!

We went to a great place downtown called the
Naglee Park Garage It was great! They have a terrific menu full of great sandwiches,
rotisserie items and great veggie side dishes. We ordered several of the side dishes and shared so we could taste everything! I think it ended up being a toss-up between the brussel sprouts and the winter squash gratin being our favorites. The dessert was to die for, today they had caramel apple pie and chocolate torte. We got one of each and shared, we were in heaven! K said that the chocolate tart was as good as an orgasm! I don't know about that, but I'd be willing to try it again. Great place.....we'll go there again.
New Job!

I started my new job yesterday. It's a part-time job at an agency that works with the homeless. Much different then the work I was doing at my last job, but also somewhat the same. My previous job was at an agency that supports people in grief, mostly after someone they love has died. The homeless often have lots of grief over losing people, things, or in some cases their own identity.

When I got home I CO a new project. It's a felted bag from Pursenality Plus. I'll post a picture soon.

Today my friend M and I went on a tour of some of the local yarn shops. We had a great time and I picked up some great stuff to add to my stash. There is definitely a theme....felting anyone?

I bought this at my very favorite LYS Commuknity I'm going to use it to felt a small purse.

Yum, this is Cascade 220, color 8888 and Crystal Palace Kid Merino color 9812. I going to use this for a felting class I'm taking in April at Community.

This is a sooo soft merino alpaca blend I got in a kit from sweaterkits at Yarn Dogs. It will also end up being a felted bag. I think it's going to end up being for daughter number 2.

I also got some sock yarn and some Debbie Bliss cashmerino super chunky for a scarf the new mommy is working on. I'll post pictures of those later.

Knitted Bliss

I've started a new project, and it's not a scarf! Okay, the truth is it's a wrap...which is really just a big scarf. I'm making it out of the coolest yarn from Habu. The main body of the wrap is knit with "Silk Stainless Steel" with blocks at each end knit with "Tsumugi" and "Tobi Moira" held together. It's really interesting to knit with the "Silk Stainless Steel" because it kind of holds it shape as you knit with it. The one draw back is because it's so fine....it very slow going. I'll post a picture later today.

I'm creating this blog mainly to have a place to write about my what I'm doing with my free time. Mostly it will be a place to keep track of my knitting projects.

Ive been knitting about a year. So far, I have knit lots of scarfs. Lets see what I come up with next!
