Sleepless Night

I am having a difficult time falling asleep tonight, so I thought instead of continuing to lay here trying to force myself to sleep, I would catch up with some blogging.

Recently I cut my hair in order to hopefully make it a little easier once it starts to fall out from the chemo. The first two pictures are from when we were in Hawaii this past February.

The first one is me and the teenager (who happens to have really great hair) one night at dinner. In the second one you can't see too much of my hair, but if you look closely you can see that I have a nice thick pony tail hanging out of my hat. In general that trip to Hawaii was perfect. We took it just before I had my lumpectomy and still were hoping this whole cancer thing would just be a scare and would soon just be a memory. No such luck.

This is me after I got my hair cut....I'm calling it my transitional cut. The doctor says that about 10 days after my first chemo treatment (which is at noon tomorrow) the hair will all be gone, so I figure once it starts to go I'll just shave it. We'll see how brave I am about posting a picture of that!

Anyway, I have a great new wig, some scarfs and some wonderful hats that a group of my mother's friends knit for me. I haven't taken pictures of them yet, but will soon and then post them. Each one of the hats is truly a work of art.
