More pictures from paradise.

I thought about writing some interesting prose, but then looked at the pictures and decided it's true a picture really is worth a 1000 words. Here are a few from our favorite beach Ke'e. We spent most of Tuesday there hanging out. this first one is us hiking up a trail that starts at the beach.

This view was the reward for making it to the top of the hike.

This one is on the way back down. It was getting close to sunset so the colors had all softened.
This is the teenager doing her best Bay watch impression. Pretty good don't you think!

And her best mermaid on a rock impression.

Just the most amazing waves ever

Then on Wednesday we went whale watching on a very small raft. It was an adventure!!! this is a picture of us taking off from the harbor.
This is the view from Scotty's a BBQ place where we had the best sandwiches ever after the whale watching.

This is the teenager at lunch.....the boat kind of got to her. Notice the tangles in her hair......took a lot of conditioner to get that out!! But hey the sandwich was great! And so was the whale watching, but you'll have to wait till after we get home to see those pictures.
This is David after the whale watching......boy was he tired. Notice there are no pictures of me after the whale watching trip. I have to say that you don't get seasick on the little rafts...but boy do your muscles get a work out. I was already in bed by this time.
That's it for now. We did lots of fun stuff today too, but it's all still being uploaded so you'll have to wait for pictures.

Just a few more pictures

This first one is off the coast by the Kilauea lighthouse. It's a great place to look for wildlife. We've seen Red-Footed and Brown Boobies, both White and Red-tailed Tropicbirds, Laysan Albatross, Great Frigate Bird and the Hawaiian Goose, NeNe there during this trip. We also saw Humpback whales there during this trip, and in the past saw green sea turtles and monk seals. It's a great place to go and just sit for a while.

This is the outside restaurant at the Princeville Hotel. We had Sunday brunch there we love the view. We've gone here every year that we have come to Kauai and are never disappointed. It has to be one of the best views on the Island.
This last one is of the teenager at the beach by the first hotel we stayed at. It was not a beach that was safe for swimming, but it was nice and long and full of tide pools with interesting things to look at.

That's it for now. It's time for bed because we are going to get up early and go on a whale watching trip. Wish my tummy a calm time on the sea!

Ahh, That's better!

We are on vacation in Kauai and truly all life's troubles seem far away and not so bad when you can sit by the beach and sip mango margaritas. Of course the teenager's has lots of mango and no tequila.
When we were done with the margaritas we went and checked out the hotel pool.

Yes that is sand on the bottom and the ocean just on the other side! this is just one of the five pools at the hotel we stayed at our first two night on Kauai. It was truly fabulous.

This other picture is the end of the road past Waimea Canyon, where you can see the Napali Coast to the right and the ocean down below. The colors are amazing! We also drove out to the end of the Waimea river when the sand is black from all the lava rock. The beaches here are all so different. I'll post more pictures later of the light sands, but for now the last one is of the beach and pier in Hanalei Bay. This is the same pier that was used in the movie South Pacific.

Some nuns in Greece are on on the run because of the cost of knitting. Follow this link to see the details. The Story

This is too funny...or maybe too sad.
